Meteor Crater

When we called Steve from Flagstaff, AZ, and told him we were going to check out the Grand Canyon before visiting him, he told us that we should go visit the Meteor Crater -- extremely good advice. I think that it's the world's largest and first confirmed crater. Like the Grand Canyon, it was WAY bigger than I'd expected...



I made the two pictures above by patching together mutiple photos. There was no way I could capture it, even with the relatively wide angle lense on my camera.


By the way, if you haven't already figured it out, that's Dave -- for scale, he's seven feet tall.



Those telescopes were actually really cool -- each one was focused on a different "attraction" -- including a six foot tall manequin at the bottom of the crater which very much put everything into scale.
