Hi. My name is
Rebekah. Assisted by the generosity of Shannon,
I created www.bmeworld.com/Rebekah
so that people could learn stuff. As far as I'm concerned,
having Internet access is like having twenty-four hour access
to the world's biggest library, AND it's OK to smoke and drink
coffee. What could be better?
At this point, seeing
as how my little place on the Internet seems to be mildly successful
(judging not only by the hits on the newly-added counters, but
also by the EMail that I receive), maybe I should introduce myself
a little??
My loves and hobbies
are body modification and computers and books.
My BME
tattoo last updated
March 7, 2000: It's not healing as well as I'd hoped.
Barely healed, in fact. Updated pictures available. And YES,
I'm taking into consideration that a white tattoo works the skin
harder.
It's almost a year later and still not well-healed.
My original parents
are still married to each other.
I love to read.
The first book I ever read is A Bargain for Frances.
My favorite books are Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon
(who doesn't write fast enough!) and I Know This Much Is True
by Wally Lamb.
I'm going to try writing some more, too. Watch here for links...
I base my life
around the theories in the science fiction short story The
Other Now by Murray Leinster. It came out way before
the movie Sliding Doors. I wrote to the publisher
to try to get permission to reprint, and haven't heard back.
My top favorite
bands are Alice Cooper, Ozzy (Black Sabbath and with Randy Rhoads
playing guitar, preferably), Nirvana, Biohazard,
Bile, and Slayer.
My tattoos reflect this; I have portraits of Alice Cooper, Randy
Rhoads, and Kurt Cobain among other musicians. I have Slayer
and Biohazard tattoos. I also have a rose on my shoulder
that has the name of Ricky, who plays in Bile. I am discovering the Blues, as
well... it's an ecclectic mishmash in my brain, but my brain
is currently so much mishmush.... incidentally, I strongly suggest
Judy Henske, Son
Seals, and Buddy Guy.
The sexiest men
I know are LUTHER, Slave,
Ricky, Shannon,
Krztoff,
and Carrot Top.
(I have diverse tastes.) Dig the Carrot Top tattoo. Scotty
(Carrot Top) autographed my arm and I had the autograph tattooed
into my skin the following night.
I am also a mildly obsessed
groupie... but harmless
I live with clinical
depression.
I'm going to be medicated for the rest of my life, probably.
Once one gets into a good medical program, life changes
dramatically. HEY, just because I have a bad
day doesn't mean I "forgot" my medication... I'm as
entitled to a bad day as everyone else. (Phew! Oh, speaking my
mind was never a problem.)
I love my computer.
I'm using a PC right now, even tho I MUCH prefer the Macintosh.
I speak with forked
tongue. Literally. (pictures by Mel) More are available
on BME
Extreme. (yes i know, my lipstick
is a mess, and my face is flushed. We had just come from
a Carrot Top show)

Twisties
Tattoos here include (from
left to right) Alive (under hand), the logo from Vivas Machina,
my Biohazard DFL tattoo (it looks like crap here but it has remained
crisp thru the years) and on my left hand a piece by Darkside
Tattoo that covers some guy's initials. (I REALLY want them
to do a big piece on me -- someday$$!)
This work is on my right shoulder.
Alice Cooper darkens considerably with a dab of lotion. He's
about the size of one's hand (palm and fingers extended). The
Calvin & Hobbes, which is the "artwork" on the
"wall" of the "pub" that is my backpiece
was done by Ritchie Montgomery.
No big story with this one. On
the top of the photo, the bottom half circle is my Slayer tattoo. The Official Tattoo Brand tattoo
was done by Gregg, during the time I worked Counter at Tattoo
International. I thought it was properly symbolic of how
much I love the studio. The green tattoo with the Celtic
influence came from a Dover coloring book. It is in honor of
all the Irish men in my past.
It's really hard to have a
"favorite" tattoo but this is indeed one of my favorites.
Each of my tattoos tells a story. My darling butch Sam,
who calls me Mom, is a brilliant budding artist. While her portfolio
of original work is stunning, I haven't YET gotten anything done
from the actual portfolio.
I found this on Kitt's web
site, and Jay Crockett (formerly of Tattoo International) inked
it on. When I was Sam's age (ouch!!!) I really thought I'd be
dead by the time I turned 21. This tattoo reminds me that there's
someone who thinks I'm special, so I have to stay out of trouble.
She is MY guardian angel. The photograph is horrible as
it was hard for me to stand with my arm bent just so.
Finally.... Roy is one of my dearest friends
in the whole world. (I met him in the NYC club scene about ten
years ago.) His children have become my children.
(Alas, my babies are growing up -- Syd and Ralph live on their
own -- they're over eighteen!) One year, Jon-Jon drew this picture
for me for Mother's Day. I demanded that his father drive me
to Seattle Tattoo Emporium (no we didn't drive cross country;
they were living in Seattle) and Steve inked this in for me.
(Last I heard, Steve had headed for CA.)
Every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger, 3/4 of the deaths are
children under 5. When a country dims on this map, it signifies
a death from hunger in that country.
