   Finding retailer and boutiques that cater to the fetish community can
   almost impossible to find.  Your general "adult toy store" may have
   some of the items you may need for your collection as they generally
   carry the 'vanilla' aspect of the scene.  Most often, one has to
   find a good mail-order source to receive the items of their desire.

   Typical sex shops carry sexy lingerie, a variety of dildos and vibrators
   but few SM items.  Whips and crops, if they have any, are usually novelty
   type items, poorly made and rarely for active play.  Crops can be
   often purchased from tack shops if you happen to have on of those in
   your area, as well, your local pet store is a good source of collars and
   leashes.

   Whipmakers, leather craftsman and furniture makers sell their art to
   individulas directly or through mail order.  The best, fine crafted
   pieces are understandably expensive and finding these individuals can
   be a chore.  The marketing of these items is usually through word of
   mouth and reference.

   For the do-it-yourself kind of person, you can find all kinds of little
   treasurs in the most ordinary of places.  Making your own toys is always
   fun and captures your true creativity.  Leather outlets are easily found
   and usually carry a good supply of materials, including leather crafting
   tools and supplies such as buckles, rings and studs.  Hardware stores and
   lumber yards are two great places for supplies.  You can purchase rope,
   cahin, rings and hooks.  Not to mention dowels, pvc pipe and other
   materials for fabricating spreader bars and dungeon toys.  Equestrian,
   tack and harness shops are the best places to purchase riding crops, buggy
   whips and horse-hair fly whisks.  While they can be purchased in adult and
   SM stores, they are significantly cheaper here.  Next, the marine supply
   store is the place to find pulleys, tie downs and weight-bearing equip-
   ment.  Fishing rod blanks make good fiber glass canes.  Sporting goods,
   camping stores and shops catering to the rescue squads sell nylon webbing,
   rope and mountain climbing gear.  All of these items are great for
   bondage.  A climber's harness is great for suspension if you aren't
   concerned with having the look of leather and steel.

   Don't forget about sources such as flea markets, garage sales, and
   renaissance fairs wich can provide some interesting items too.

   Of course, your very own home may have all the things that you are looking
   for, you just never had an occasion to think of them in a different light.
   Scarves, dishtowels and cloth diapers are fine as blindfolds, gags and
   cuffs.  Clothesline, belts, sashes, plastic wrap and duct tape are great
   for bondage.  Rubber bands around the breasts are erotically splendid.

   Hairdryers and candles can add a bit of heat to your scene.  Ice, which
   is easily found (just open the freezer door) is nice dripped or rubbed
   on various organs.  Belts and ropes can take the place of whips.  Ping
   pong paddles, wooden spoons, rulers and breadboards make acceptable pad-
   dles.

   Clothespins work well as clamps.  Using two toothpicks fastened with an
   elastic at each end can also serve as a nipple clamp (insert nipple
   between the toothpicks).  Feather dusters and silk scarves are excellent
