before touching a fresh piercing.
- · Apply a small amount
of Softsoap to a wet q -tip and gently remove
- any crusty matter from the
ring and skin around the piercing.

are gone, apply a few drops of Softsoap to the ring and
- gently rotate the jewelry back
and forth . Allow the soap to sit for 1-3 minutes.
- · Rinse thoroughly by
rotating the jewelry back and forth under running

-
- Tips , hints,
and common sense
-
- · NEVER clean ANY piercing
with alcohol, peroxide, or iodine (Betadine)
-
- · Avoid ointments such
as Neosporin,A&D, etc., these will only clog your piercing
and starve it of oxygen.
- · DO NOT play with your
piercing while it is healing
.let it rest.
-
- · Keep all bodily fluids
away from healing piercings.
-
- · Leave your jewelry
in for the duration of the healing period.
-
- · Keep hairspray, make-up,
lotions, body sprays, and anything else you can think of away
from healing piercings.
-
- · Expect a whitish colored
fluid to stick to the ring
..
- this is called lymph, its mostly
dead skin cell and plasma. Don't worry
..this isn't pus.
- · Stay out of hot tubs,
jacuzzis, lakes , and swimming pools for the duration of the
healing period.
- Remember, you have an open
wound to think about.
-
- · If you do develop
an infection the jewelry should be left in.
- Taking the jewelry out can
close off the exits for infectious fluid and can result in an
abscess.
- · If you like your piercing
keep jewelry in it at all times! Even healed piercings can shrink
or
- close in minutes, even after
being healed for years. If your jewelry falls out and can't
- be easily put back into place
DO NOT force it through. See a piercer as soon as possible,
- the jewelry can usually be
re-inserted without too much trouble.
-
- · If you have a question
call and ask!!! We are more than happy to assist you with your
new piercing.
- During the first couple of
weeks your new piercing is going to be a little tender, it may
also bleed a little if it is bumped or moved the wrong way
this
is normal. You may also notice some discoloration around the
piercing , this too is normal.
