To Primalisms Body Piercing. We endeavour to provide our clients with the highest possible level of professional body piercing. We are constantly evolving our techniques and aftercare as new information becomes available. We believe that due to our constant vigilance concerning changes and new information, we are on the cutting edge of piercing, and we have every intention of remaining there.

History

Primalisms Body Piercing was opened in 1996 by Kelley Mitchell in Boone, North Carolina, in order to provide professional body piercing in a proper environment. After changing location twice in Boone, a permenant home was found at 128 Appalachian Street in Boone. This space is shared with Mark of Cain Tattoo Art. In January of 1998, The Reverend T. Jon Tillman, one of Kelleys' apprentices, who had been working in Palm Beach, FL., bought the business from her, as she was leaving the field to raise her daughter, Darby. Soon after Jon bought the business, he took on Megan Woolshlager as his apprentice.


Since that time many changes have taken place at Primalisms, and now the unofficial total of apprentices hovers around three. Primalisms, as well as Mark of Cain Tattoo Art operates on an "open door" policy. This means that anyone, regardless of whether or not they are a tattooist, piercer or just curious can come into the studio and have unlimited access to information and consultation, free of charge. We make all possible attempts to avoid the sometimes nasty politics surrounding this field, and try to promote an open environment that will foster growth for the field as a whole. In 1998, Mark Of Cain and Primalisms joined forces, culminating in the formation of PMI. Now Primalisms Body Piercing is a wholly owned subsidiary of PMI, Inc.

Working contrary to what we consider the "industry standard", all of the piercers serve a minimum of one year apprenticeship, subject to the review of the Lead Piercer and the person or persons who apprenticed them. We do not charge for apprenticeships, nor are the hours inflexible, but we do not allow anyone to pierce in our studio until both we and they are comfortable with their abilities as a piercer. The artistry and individuality of piercing is emphasised, instead of it being treated as a "get 'em in, get 'em out" industry.

Mission
At Primalism Body Piercing, we strive to be the very best that we can be, and to offer the most advanced, safest, cleanest piercing in the world. We are very proud of the way we work, and invite everyone to come and see us in action. we believe that through communication and cooperation, not back-stabbing and competition, all piercers can, and should, work together to elevate this art form to a level it has enjoyed in many other societies and civilizations, but never in this one.
