Sean's Modifications
My name is Sean Fitting. I am the night circulation supervisor at the Legal Research Center at the University of San Diego. I will finish my JD in December of 1999 and my MLIS, from San Jose State University in May 2000.
This Celtic Cross covers a large part of my left calf. On the other calf I have a yin-yang. I am working on getting a picture of that one. It is the same size and is also red with a black outline. I got the cross in the December of 1997. I had considered getting a tattoo for about five years. I knew that I wanted a celtic cross but was not sure where I would get it and how big it would be. A friend of mine does a lot of tattooing and offered to do it at a good price so I finally went ahead and got it.

I got the Yin-Yang done in Nov. of 1998. It is partly to balance the first one. I like the idea of balancing with opposites. One is mostly outline and the other is mostly solid. One is western symbolism and the other is eastern symbolism. I sometimes joke that I have one foot in the east and one foot in the west. It also partly illustrates my own path from christianity to buhdism and back. (You never know home until you visit somewhere else) |
My right ear is pierced three times and my left ear is peirced once. I got the first piercing (left) in December of 1979. In those days before MTV a guy with a pierced ear was a big deal. I used to wear an ear ring to piss people off. Sometime in the mid 1980's I got the other three holes. Each time to keep making the statement that the first one had made before MTV made holes in the ears stylish. By the end of the 80's I had gone back to school and my angry days were over. I hardly ever wear anything in the ears anymore. When I was cleaning up the house last summer I came across some of my old ear rings and wore a couple for a couple of weeks. The holes were still there. I took them out after a couple of weeks and have not got around to putting them back on.
