David's Modifications
David's pet project is tattoos. He has designed all his tattoos and considers them to be a highly personal work of art and representation of reality. Each design has a particular personal meaning. As a pagan, David feels that ritual body decoration is an extention and manifestion of his beliefs.

The Green Man opposite took over a year to design. The Green Man
here represents my personal understanding of the Divine. Being a pagan I
believe that the Divine, God/Goddess, or whatever you wish to name It,
is embodied in the cosmos.
For a pagan the earth itself is alive: She sustains and supports us, She is in a real sense our Mother. But the Divine is also within us. The Green Man symbol is an old one that expresses these ideas. To this I have added the symbolism of plants and animals: each flower, leaf or insect represents a different aspect of deity. Including symbols of the feminine provides balance: the Divine is Male and Female, both and neither, and any representation of it must show this. |
Visit David's homepage to find out more about this design and his other tattoo projects. Also included is information about paganism, personal info about David and his partner Geoff (I think they make a *lovely* couple) and lots more.
Also, read David's Rant about Body Modification and librarianship. I don't think he really hates me.
